Terms of Service

EFFECTIVE JULY 20, 2026 · BLUE GRID IT, A SERVICE OF SUNSTAR AMERICA LLC, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND

01The service

Blue Grid IT ("we," "us") arranges in-home technology installation and support performed by independent, background-checked technicians. Booking through bluegrid-it.com or by phone forms an agreement under these terms.

02Pricing & payment

Prices shown are flat rates for the described scope. A card is securely saved at booking and charged only after the work is completed and you approve it by signature. On-site additions (extra devices, equipment) are itemized in the technician's app and require your approval and signature before any charge. Same-day and after-hours fees are displayed before you confirm.

03Scheduling, cancellation & no-shows

Reschedule or cancel free of charge up to 4 hours before your window.

If we can't do the work when we arrive. If your technician arrives within the scheduled window and cannot begin — because no one is there to provide access after documented contact attempts, or because you decline the work after the technician has arrived — a $25 trip fee applies. It is the same fee in both cases, and you are not charged for the service itself.

If the technician cannot complete the job for a reason on our side — the work falls outside what we can safely do, the site isn't ready, or equipment is faulty — you are charged nothing at all, and we will call you to sort out what happens next.

04Text messages

By providing your mobile number when booking, you consent to receive SMS text messages from Blue Grid IT about your appointment. These include booking confirmations, technician arrival and status updates, and two-way messages between you and your assigned technician, which are routed through our company number so neither party sees the other's personal number.

Message frequency varies by appointment activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of further messages or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties for their marketing. Opting out does not cancel your appointment; we will reach you by phone or email instead. See our Privacy Policy for details.

05Calls and messages through the Blue Grid line

Calls and text messages between you and your technician are connected through a Blue Grid IT phone number rather than personal numbers. By calling or texting that number, or by accepting a call from it, you consent to Blue Grid IT recording the date, time, participants and content of those communications. We keep this record to resolve disputes, confirm that a technician attempted to reach you before an appointment, and improve service.

Your technician is notified of and consents to the same logging. If you prefer not to have a conversation logged, do not use the Blue Grid line; you can reach us instead at admin@bluegrid-it.com. Maryland is a two-party consent state, and this notice is given so that all participants are aware before any communication takes place.

06Your responsibilities

Provide accurate job details, safe access to the work area, and — where a service requires it — working electricity, internet service, and account credentials for your own devices and services. We configure accounts you own; we never access accounts belonging to others.

07Workmanship guarantee

If an installation we performed stops working within 7 days due to workmanship, we return and make it right at no charge. This does not cover product defects (covered by the manufacturer), changes made after our visit, or issues with your internet provider.

08Limitation of liability

Our technicians carry liability coverage for property damage caused by our work, documented with before/after photos. To the maximum extent permitted by Maryland law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount paid for the service giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for data loss — we will always recommend a backup before data work.

09Technician licensing

Technicians are independent contractors, not employees of Blue Grid IT. Each technician is responsible for holding the licenses, registrations, and permits required for the work they perform, and agrees in their contract with us to decline work they are not licensed to do.

We verify identity, run a criminal background check and motor vehicle record, require category-specific skills testing, and require each technician to carry their own general liability insurance naming Blue Grid IT as additional insured. We do not independently verify trade licensing for every job, and licensing requirements vary by state, county, and type of work. If your project requires a licensed trade professional or a permit, please confirm the assigned technician holds the credentials you need before work begins — you can ask them directly through the Blue Grid line, or email us and we will put you in touch.

10Independent technicians

Blue Grid IT operates a platform that connects customers with independent technicians. Technicians are independent contractors, not employees or agents of Blue Grid IT. We verify identity, run background and driving-record checks, require skills testing, and require each technician to carry their own general liability insurance — but we do not supervise or direct how a technician performs the work at your home.

All communication and payment must flow through the Blue Grid platform. Off-platform arrangements void our workmanship guarantee, are not covered by the technician's insurance requirement, and are made entirely at your own risk. Statements a technician makes to you directly are theirs, not ours.

11Your responsibilities as a customer

By booking an appointment you confirm that you own the property or have permission to authorize the work, and that the premises will be in a condition that reasonably allows the technician to complete the service — clear access to the work area, power available, and any equipment on hand unless we are supplying it.

You are responsible for obtaining any permit your project requires, and for confirming that the assigned technician holds any trade license your project requires (see Section 9). Please secure pets and let us know in advance about anything a technician should be aware of in the home.

If a technician arrives and cannot safely or reasonably complete the work because of the condition of the premises, the appointment may be treated as a missed appointment under Section 3.

12Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account information accurate and your password confidential, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you believe someone else has accessed it. Accounts are personal and may not be transferred. You can close your account any time by emailing admin@bluegrid-it.com; we keep booking and payment records as long as tax and warranty obligations require.

13Disputes

These terms are governed by Maryland law. We will always try to resolve any issue directly first — most problems are fixed with one phone call.

14Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above reflects the latest version. Material changes are posted on this page.
